Father's Day Celebration Continued...Icing on the Cake!

Tie game at the top of the 9th. Two men on base. Line drive to the outfield. TWINS WIN!! What a great way to end our Father's Day celebration. Oh, and...no, we did not bring the kids.

Happy Father's Day!

As part of our Father's Day celebration this year, we spent the morning at the Back to the 50's Car Show at the fairgrounds. It was fun to be out with the whole family, and even better to have Meemee and Poppa with us too. The kids loved running around and looking at the cars. What a great way to celebrate with Daddy!

Joey LOVED the fire truck...

Linnea and Lizie were just tickled to find a PINK car!!

...Daddy found lots of cars he liked (of course)

And Mommy did what she does best...she shopped, and found Lizie and Joey's 16th birthday presents!
......teehee ;-)

Overall we decided our favorites were the Packards. Guess it's no surprise that a Packard was the car we drove off in on our wedding day! Maybe someday Daddy will get one of these for his Father's Day present
...someday.

For now, we'll just shout out a big "Happy Father's Day" to the best daddy in the world! We love you SOOOOOO much!

Happy Happy Saturday!!

Daddy is a very busy guy during the summer. He pretty much works every day. Today, though, he was able to play with us almost all day! We had a great time.

The weather was finally beautiful, so we played in the yard for a while...

 Time for a POPSICLE!!

 ...and a little relaxation.

Even Ringo was in on the back yard play action...
We were SO happy the sun was shining!
After a snack and some tasty bomb-pops, we took a walk to Concord playground...
Then we got hungry for dinner, so we hopped in our new Burleys and rode to Snuffy's.
Dinner was yummy...
We still had the wiggles after dinner, so Daddy said we could stop at The Neighborhood Ice Cream Shoppe! Mommy wasn't sure that would help with our wiggles, so after ice cream, we went to Pamela Park before heading home. Lizie apparently needed just a little more nourishment...mmmm, sand.
What a special day! We had so much fun! Too bad Daddy got called away to Woodbury on an emergency "puke in the pool" call just when we were going to bed...

California Girl

I'm just gonna say it - I am one lucky girl! Mommy and Meemee took me JUST me to California to visit my Uncle Mikey. Mommy told me Uncle Mikey is her brother. Isn't that cool?! He's a really fun guy. I remembered hanging out with him a couple times when I was a little younger, so I was super excited to see him again. You know what else is cool? I had Uncle Mikey (and mommy and meemee) all to myself! I know...perfect, right? I'm SO lucky.

I was a really good girl on the flight to California. I was so excited to fly on an airplane again. Mommy brought my ipad, so I taught Meemee how to play games with me. Before I knew it, we landed in Los Angeles!
Mommy was all excited about our hotel in Marina Del Rey. It was called the Ritz Carlton, and it's Mommy's favorite for sure. I think it's my favorite now too. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Check out the bed made especially for me...
It was just like a princess bed! Suits me!

And look at the stunning views from our hotel room too:

I mean, really...does it get much better?!

Ok, enough about the hotel already. Uncle Mikey is the big news here. I got to see Uncle Mikey's house, and his roommate's super fun doggy, AND he took me to the beach. He lives so close to the beach that it took us like 30 seconds to walk there! Wow. Uncle Mikey was really nice and he introduced me to his good friend, the Pacific Ocean...

Then we played tag for a while...

Tag is super fun. If you haven't played it before, you should try it!

Uncle Mikey told me he surfs right off the beach. I wanted to surf too, but Mommy said the water was too cold and stinky. I was all "Stinky?!" Whatever. Mom is downright silly. Since I couldn't surf, Uncle Mikey took me to get some ice cream instead. I was totally okay with it. Ice cream was a fair alternative.
While I ate my ice cream, Uncle Mikey took me on a walk around Venice Beach and it's canals. I like where Uncle Mikey lives. I was totally down with the Venice Beach vibe.

So, the very next day was FULL of excitement. I woke up in my princess bed feeling all refreshed, and then mommy told me we were going to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market! I was going to ride a pony! Seriously. Super cool. Uncle Mikey made sure I got the fastest pony too.
You're not gonna believe this, but THEN I got to feed goats, sheep, and chickens!
I was totally diggin' the farmer's market. I even got to eat a ginormous waffle for breakfast and search through millions of peaches with Ashley. She's Uncle Mikey's girlfriend and she's way nice. She sings really good and knows ALL the princess songs. She even taught me a song about millions of peaches.
I had a tight schedule while I was in California. After the Farmer's Market, I got to meet Meemee's cousin at the Santa Monica Beach Club. I FINALLY got to put my swim suit on and play on the beach. It was super fun.
I'm not gonna lie, I was totally down with the Beach Club vibe too...
I'm such a lucky girl. I even got more snuggles with Uncle Mikey before we left the beach.
Isn't it obvious? I really loved my special time with Uncle Mikey.

Get this! Just when I thought Uncle Mikey couldn't get ANY more super cool, he brought me to DISNEYLAND! Talk about icing on the cake! I got to have lunch with all my favorite princesses in Ariel's Grotto, watch Mickey's Soundsational Parade, meet Mickey Mouse, and ride a bunch of cool rides.

I even got to stay up really late. I did get super tired and kind of cranky, but then Meemee bought me a new princess costume. I transformed into Jasmine and had a whole new lease on life.
I forgot about being tired and cranky. I was Jasmine at Disneyland. From there on out, I had a mission...and I walked around like I owned the place. Can you blame me?
I almost made it to the World of Color night show, but Mommy decided we'd better head back to the hotel. I guess that was a good idea, because I fell asleep in Mommy's arms walking out of the park. Can't remember the last time I did that! Disneyland was so great. I'm so glad Uncle Mikey took me there.

On my last morning in California, we made one last stop at Uncle Mikey's favorite coffee shop in Venice Beach. Mommy and Uncle Mikey were all excited about the Intelligentcia coffee, but I thought the coffee was stinky. Weird. I got an OJ instead.
That was it. Then we made our way back to LAX for the flight home.
I love my Uncle Mikey. And I love my Meemee and Mommy. I'm a very lucky girl to have gone on such a special trip. I will never forget it. Ever.
I love you guys!

May 5th: Bye-Bye Binky

Get THIS...the Binky Fairy came to my house and left a package at my front door! Mommy said the Binky Fairy was going to be coming, but I didn't think it would be in such a short amount of time. I was super excited, though, when Mommy said the huge package was for me! The Binky Fairy left a note that said:

Dear Linnea,
Inside this box is a very special surprise for you. You can open it ONLY when you decide you are ready to say "goodbye" to your binkies. When that time comes, you are to wrap all your binkies in special wrapping paper and put them in the mailbox. I will have the mailman pick them up and bring them to the new babies just born at the hospital. This is a big decision for you to make, but I know you can do it. After all, you ARE a big girl now. So, you let your mommy know when you're ready. Think about it carefully, because when the binkies are gone, you can't get them back. Best of luck!
Love,
The Binky Fairy

Well, after Mommy read it TWO times (not sure why she felt that was necessary), I told her I was READY! I wanted that Cinderella Castle! Yea...I knew that's what the Binky Fairy had brought me. I'm no dummy.

Mommy got the wrapping paper (she just happened to have some already) and we carefully and lovingly wrapped all my binkies. We made sure to save a couple for Lizie and Joey's...they still get their binkies because they're still babies. I put the wrapped binkies in the mailbox, and went for that box! I couldn't have been happier when I saw that Cinderella Castle. It was HUGE and it had a bunch of princesses and princes. Sweeeeet.

So, I haven't had my binky now for a month. I must admit, I've been a little emotional at times, and I still have a hard time going down for naps. Sometimes Mommy lets me just skip my nap. She says it's "just not worth the fight," whatever that means. I can also give Mommy and Daddy a run for their money when it's bed time, but somehow they always win. I always end up falling asleep. I guess life isn't so bad without binky! I'm a BIG girl!
